A fabulous event for us to be involved with as an event management company! We’re approved suppliers at the National Portrait Gallery, so we’re very used to planning events here and we particularly love that each exhibition always offers a unique event management opportunity to design something completely different – to match the style of the exhibition subject. In this case we were organising the preview dinner for the Jon Sargent exhibition. John Singer Sargent 1856 – 1925 was an American artist, considered “the leading portrait painter of his generation”. During his prolific career, he created roughly 900 oil paintings and more than 2,000 watercolours, as well as countless sketches and charcoal drawings. The exhibition at The National Portrait Gallery edited his huge output and showcased just over seventy portraits, spanning Sargent’s time in London, Paris, Boston and New York as well as his travels in the Italian and English countryside. Our dinner design reflected the countryside he showcased in his art and was a riot of foliage and flowers.
